Shoulder Consultant Amir Salama
Amir Salama: Shoulder and Knee Surgeon, Solihull,  Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth

Mr Salam works with the Atlas Pain Relief Centre team treating all conditions of the upper limbs and sports injuries including knee ligament reconstruction surgery and meniscal cartilage repair surgery. He also specialises in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery of the shoulder, elbow and wrist for conditions such as frozen shoulder, tendonitis, rotator cuff tear, tennis elbow and arthritis.
Mr Salama supports the Atlas team and will provide the Tamworth Pain Relief Centre with a specialist shoulder consultant.  Mr Salama will be working closely with Atlas Physiotherapists and Osteopaths in Tamworth and providing clinical expertise in shoulder diagnosis and treatment.

Mr Salama qualified from Alexandria Medical School in Egypt and undertook his post graduate training in the UK. Working in Birmingham he then took a Fellowship in limb construction surgery at the University of Sheffield followed by a specialist registrar post in Sheffield where he trained to a very high standard.  Mr Salama is a consultant at the Heart of England NHS Trust ( Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital)  Mr Salama is also a consultant at Spires Parkway Hospital in Solihull and Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield.

A highly qualified and experienced knee and shoulder surgeon

Mr Salama had Fellowship training in upper limb surgery at the Sheffield Shoulder and Elbow Unit in preparation for his consultant post and has a wide experience in upper limb joint replacements and arthroscopic surgery.  He followed that as part of his interest in Sports Injuries he took Fellowship training in knee surgery and ligament reconstructions.

Mr Salama wrote 2 chapters in the Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics and was involved in several national and international presentations and publications.  He was selected as one of 2 European Fellows to take a mini Fellowship in Japan where he learned many surgical techniques that would benefit patients in the UK.

Mr Salama has a keen interest in Sports Injuries and his specialist interest lies in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow and wrist.
